SEO is the short form of Search Engine Optimization. It is a word with wide meaning.  SEO means improving your website in search engine searches. One can optimize their site in many ways but SEO is the most prominent and less expensive one. There is some problem with this, i.e. it shows its effect in 4 to 6 months; sometimes even 11 months also.

You can categories SEO in two parts - on-page and off-page SEO. On page is the simpler one but for this show have some ideas of HTML and CSS. Without these you can find some problem while editing codes. On-page, this word itself reveals its meaning – on web page. What we do on web pages and its code, all come in on-page optimization.

Answer of this is quite simple. Firstly, they just want to know what a web page is about. For this, they look for some of the tags and what they reveal. These tags are title, heading and some more tags. Title and heading of the web page tell Search Engines that what a web page is about. They also want to know how often the same words have been repeated in the body of the web page. These repetitions of same words help to find- how important that page is, against all other pages about the same thing (your competing pages).

Off-page optimization means optimization of website without doing anything to web pages of the site. In this type of Search engine optimization, you have to work on links from other sites coming into the web page. These links from other sites popularise your site in the eye of Search Engines. Then it will give importance to your site and give top ranking in searches. For this, you should go with directory submission, article submission, blog submission, yahoo answering, link exchanges (three ways) and many other methods. You should try to link with similar sites rather other. These links should be non- reciprocal.
